"What happened here? Who are you people?" the middle-aged man asked in a deep voice, his sharp gaze sweeping over Dean and Sam.
"Hunters," Sam answered between breaths. "We just dealt with a demon. Who are you?"
"Hunters?" The woman snorted, her eyes openly appraising and distrustful. "Colorado is a complete mess right now. I heard it was because two idiots named Winchester opened the gates of Hell. Are you two—"
Dean tried to offer a friendly smile and cut her off. "Looks like the news traveled fast."
"Listen, no matter what you've heard, the important thing is that there are still six extremely dangerous demons nearby. They're the Seven Deadly Sins. We need to work together."
"Work together?" As if she had heard a joke, the woman bluntly interrupted Dean. "Work with traitors who opened the gates of Hell? Who knows whether you're in league with the demons? We'd rather handle this ourselves than get mixed up with disasters like you!"
With that, the hunter couple warily backed away a few steps before quickly turning and leaving, showing no intention of cooperating.
Dean's smile froze on his face, while Sam sighed helplessly.
