He walked up to the massive rubble blocking the mine entrance, let out a low shout, and slammed into it with his shoulder covered in invisible carapace.
"Boom!"
Rubble flew everywhere as a gap was forcibly smashed open at the entrance.
A thick stench of rot and sulfur rushed out. In the darkness deep within the mine, countless bloodthirsty red eyes lit up at once. Aside from ten Red-Eyed Demons, there were also more than fifty Red-Eyed Ogres enslaved by them.
The ogres let out rough howls and surged forward like a tide.
"Hold the formation. Time to test what you can do!" Jack Torrance's voice rang out through the communicator.
Mark stood at the very front like a true wall of iron.
The ogres' claws raked across his arms and chest, producing ear-piercing metallic screeches, yet they could only leave pale marks behind.
With an angry roar, he threw a punch. The violent force directly blasted apart the upper body of the leading ogre!
Spirit Fox Liz moved like a phantom through the ogre horde, so fast that she left only afterimages on the retina.
The silver-plated dagger in her hand turned into streaks of cold light, precisely slashing through the ogres' tendons, joints, and throats. Her extraordinary dynamic vision allowed her to easily predict and evade every attack.
Old Smoker did not charge forward. He first took a deep drag, then forcefully exhaled toward the densest cluster of monsters. A blazing stream of fire roared out. While it was not powerful enough to kill the ogres outright, it effectively ignited their dry fur and the rotten wood inside the tunnels.
The wall of fire threw the ogres into pain and fear, though it also restricted Mark's performance.
"Old Smoker, watch it. You nearly singed my hair," Mark complained.
