Wu Heng's gaze turned slightly cold, but he did not stop. "Continue the modifications. If we're exposed, then we're exposed. Let them come."
He pressed his communicator. "Bobby, the command post's location may have been exposed. Reinforce the perimeter defenses. Also, we may have guests coming from high altitude. Tell the air defense team to prepare."
Hell Frontline, outside the fortress.
The charge of five thousand demons was like a black tsunami. They had no tactics, only sheer numbers and madness.
Low-ranking demon servants and hellhounds rushed at the front, using their bodies to wear down the fortress's energy barrier. Mid-ranking black-eyed demons and demon mages unleashed ranged attacks from the rear.
Of the three demon lords, two had gone to ambush the passage, but one remained with the main force: a flesh demon as enormous as a hill. Every heavy step it took cracked the ground.
The energy barrier was already covered in fractures.
The technician controlling the barrier hammered at the console, sweat pouring down his forehead. "Energy output is at 130%! Any higher and it'll overload!"
"Then overload it!" Commander Renault roared. "If the barrier breaks, we're all dead!"
Outside the barrier, the hunters fired madly from behind cover.
Enchanted bullets pierced demon flesh, salt rounds made spirit-type monsters howl and disperse, and the newly issued Balance Grenades exploded amid dense clusters of demons, briefly creating zones of energy silence that stripped the demons within of their special abilities.
But there were too many demons. Hunters fell every second.
Inside the communications room, Bobby stared at over a dozen split-screen displays, coordinating in a hoarse voice. "Sector C-7 needs reinforcements. Sector D-3 is running low on salt rounds. Send all Barrier-Breaking Bullets in storage to the breach at the front! Yes, all of them!"
