She turned and leaped from the rooftop, landing in a dark alley. A pit that had been dug long ago awaited her at the alley's far end. After she crawled inside, the hole sealed shut behind her.

White fire rain continued to fall aboveground.

Grants Pass melted and collapsed in silence, eventually becoming a flat expanse of smoldering, scorched earth.

"The angels bombed ahead of schedule." Sam stared at the screen, his face grim. "They never planned to wait two days."

"Where's Eve?" Dean asked.

Bobby Singer pulled up the last captured energy trail. "Three minutes before the bombing began, her core signal vanished from the city center, then... reappeared here."

On the map, a red dot was moving northeast at tremendous speed.

"Vanderholt City." Sam enlarged the area. "She's heading there."

"We have to intercept her." Dean looked toward Wu Heng's communications feed.

Wu Heng stood before the Gates of Hell, with faint demonic roars audible behind him. "We can't spare anyone right now. Lucifer is assaulting the third layer of the defensive line. All combat power has to remain here. The defense of the human world... is up to you."

The transmission cut off, and silence filled the vehicle.

The hunters in the human world had to fight angels and demons across multiple locations. Their forces had already been divided among three main battlefields, and after the losses at Grants Pass, the portion they could deploy was stretched painfully thin.

Intercepting Eve and her monster army was almost impossible.
