"Sir, will it really help if we send the intelligence to the Demon Hunter Guild? Will they believe it?"
The adjutant stopped and looked at him.
"Whether they believe it is their business." He paused. "Whether we send it shows our attitude. Understand?"
The young demon nodded, half-understanding.
The adjutant offered no further explanation and strode out of the intelligence room.
Behind him, the scrolls on the bookshelves swayed faintly in the sulfurous wind, rustling softly.
At the edge of Heaven stood the Wall of the Void.
It had once been one of the passages connecting the mortal world and Heaven. Just three months ago, countless angels had been exiled from here to the human world.
Now, only a void of grayish white remained, like a wall infinitely tall and infinitely thick.
Metatron stood before the Wall of the Void, his back to the gate that had long since closed.
He had been standing there for three hours.

His name was Raguel. He had once been Heaven's recorder, responsible for organizing the angel roster and various scriptures.
After Metatron took control of Heaven, he had been promoted to adjutant, responsible for relaying orders and handling miscellaneous affairs.
It was a dangerous position. The previous adjutant had misspoken just once and been personally erased from existence by Metatron. Even his name had been deleted from every text.
