He leaned back on his throne and raised his wineglass.

"Once they're done fighting, no matter who wins, they'll be crippled."

Mammon stood before the dark-gold crystal core, staring at the energy monitoring screen as well. The energy fluctuations in the direction of Northern Europe were surging violently across the display.

The lean demon stood behind him.

"My lord, the demon hunters have attacked Heaven. Should we take this opportunity..."

Mammon raised a hand, cutting him off.

"No rush."

He stared at the fluctuations, greed gleaming in his eyes.

"Let them fight. Once they've spent their strength on Heaven, we'll make our move."

He turned and looked at the row of demonized angels being modified.

"Speed up the progress. I want to see two hundred completed subjects within a week."

The lean demon lowered his head.

"Yes."

Northern Europe, the aurora zone.

The pillar of light continued. Golden energy poured endlessly into the sky, battering against that invisible barrier.

Three minutes, five minutes, ten minutes.

Heaven's barrier did not budge.

There was no response whatsoever.

Michelle stood atop a rock. The golden spikes trembled wildly, and the tentacles on her face nearly stood on end as she sensed every trace of energy feedback coming from Heaven.

"Nothing." Her voice was slightly hoarse. "There hasn't been any response at all. The barrier is completely sealed."

Martin stared at the data tablet in his hands. The readings on it had not changed in the slightest.

"Metatron... did not respond."

Isaac raised his head and looked at the sky illuminated by the aurora.

"He doesn't care about those angels, nor does he intend to acknowledge us."
