Three pseudo-Hell-level forces struck Leviathan's space-piercing sharp ridge at the same time, briefly halting its movements.
And Immacrada's group of three were not the only ones to attack.
On the other side beyond the atmosphere, behind Leviathan, a spiraling horn likewise emerged. It was the Furious Hell avatar of Abaddon, which had also made its move.
In three other directions, three more powers belonging to Lord of Hell avatars appeared: tentacles, spikes, and black smoke.
Clearly, none of these Lords of Hell wanted Leviathan to obtain Nailhead's soul.
There was a saying: beggars might not envy millionaires, but they would certainly envy beggars living better than themselves.
That saying applied just as well at the level of Lords of Hell.
For these Lords of Hell, every slight increase in power required the slow accumulation of countless years, like water wearing through stone.
Some with lower-level souls could no longer continue growing at all, especially those Hells located far from reality and unable to efficiently gather large numbers of souls.
To them, watching Leviathan obtain Nailhead's soul, absorb its purified "traits" into itself, and gain a visibly dramatic increase—
an increase surpassing the accumulation of centuries or even millennia—
was more unbearable than being killed.
Faced with this sudden attack, Leviathan had long been prepared. It had already estimated which Lords of Hell might strike at it.
First of all, its true body had appeared in reality.
Individual Lord of Hell avatars could not effectively restrain it at all, and only four or five could approach reality and attack it.
So, at the instant it was attacked, a strange child's cry came from within Leviathan's diamond-shaped body. The cry was filled with innocence, as though sorrowful, yet also as though it were merely instinctive.
Everyone who heard it became certain of
