Meeting his girlfriend Linda's suspicious gaze, Ash hurried forward and somewhat disgustedly picked up the book, which was covered in the filth on the floor.
Strangely, the front cover of the book, which had been pressed against the ground, was not stained with any slime at all.
It was as though it had been licked clean.
Ash had no mood to care about that. As he flipped through the pages, he brushed it off. "Oh, maybe you judged it wrong. There were a lot of evil spirits and walking corpses back then. Everyone can testify to that."
He made no mention at all of how, after he had failed to take out the wooden plaque, no one had been hurt again.
But everyone had already seen through him.
Especially his girlfriend Linda. If the situation had not been so urgent, she would have wanted to rush over and bite Ash apart, turning him into one of her "sisters."
Perhaps sensing Linda's sharp gaze, Ash continued flipping through the pages as he said, "Uh, Gerard, can that potion of yours reattach a severed hand?"
"I mean, a skeletal hand that can move freely might be pretty good compared to a severed hand."
"Don't you think so, Linda?"
He turned to look at his girlfriend.
"Unfortunately, there's very little left. If I could return to the Middle Ages, perhaps I could find my family's hidden place and bring out more Marrow Rot from there."
"If we could find the Mire Graveyard, we'd have an endless supply of Marrow Rot.
