Ash felt somewhat ashamed after being called an idiot over and over by the man.
Hearing the question, he spread his hands helplessly and gave up trying to defend himself. "You're right. I'm the idiot you're talking about."
"While I was drunk, I taught someone else to recite a spell from the book."
"But the spell to close the portal was recorded in another language, and I can't translate it. So I wanted to find someone who could."
"Then shut the portal completely."
The middle-aged man nodded, opened the book, and flipped through it before finally turning to a page in the latter half.
Pointing at a line of symbols, he said, "Based on my deductions, the spell should be this line."
"It's called the Portal Reversal Incantation!"
"Unfortunately, its name is in Latin, so I can understand that. But the characters recording the actual incantation resemble the demon language from legend."
"Ordinary humans can't understand this writing, so neither can I."
