The battle between the two sides had already lasted several hours.
Of the ten thousand Marrow Eaters, nearly a thousand had fallen by now. For the Darkness Clan, this was an enormous number.
Everyone felt exhausted in both body and mind.
The Marrow Eaters coming off rotation were practically covered in sticky filth. Coagulated blood and grime had formed into clumps of viscous solid matter, making the armor all over their bodies incredibly uncomfortable.
It was as though they had been soaked in a vat of blood.
The foul stench clung to their skin and could not be washed away. It constantly invaded their nostrils, making it nearly impossible to breathe.
However, their senses of taste and smell had long since gone numb amid the fierce battle. During combat, they had become completely accustomed to the smell.
If ordinary people smelled such a stench, they would probably vomit from disgust immediately, and the evil aura invading their lungs would leave them seriously ill at the very least.
"Clan Chief, we can't keep this up!" an elder beside him said.
"Sigh, I'll do it!"
The clan chief rose to his feet. After sprinting several steps forward, he leaped across the center of the battlefield and landed amid the Evil Spirits.
Black mist poured from his entire body. Though it appeared light and weightless, it was as solid as substance, crashing down onto the ground along with him.
Dozens of Evil Spirits around him were instantly crushed into pulp. They did not even have time to let out a cry before their souls completely dissipated.
His giant body, comparable to a high-rise building, imposed immense pressure not only on the Marrow Eaters, but on the Evil Spirits as well.
