"Ah—!"
Wu Heng smacked the back of her hand, making her cry out in pain and pull it back.
"A hundred bucks! What are you doing?" he said irritably.
"Ah, I thought... I thought..." Anita's face instantly flushed red. Then she said softly, "I don't have any money. The money is all at home, but I'll definitely pay you!"
Mentioning home made her start crying again.
"I heard everything you said just now. The dead cannot return to life, and what happened has already happened. So what do you want to do?" Wu Heng asked flatly.
What do I want to do?
Hearing the question, Anita fell into deep thought. Before coming here, she had only thought of finding a way to survive.
But now that Wu Heng had asked, more and more thoughts began to surface.
Then she raised her head. "I want to live!"
"If possible, I also want revenge!"
"Revenge requires determination," Wu Heng said.
At his words, Anita slowly lifted her foot.
"No, thanks. I don't eat that."
"N-No!" Wu Heng's casual words nearly shattered the determined expression on Anita's face. Forcing herself to hold it together, she pointed at the dense wounds on the sole of her foot, including a swollen scar nearly two inches long. "I wanted you to see that I was able to walk all the way here barefoot through thorns. That proves my determination."
"Even if taking revenge means walking that kind of road forever, I will persevere."
Wu Heng took out a banana and mashed it into paste. Then he pulled out a black porcelain bottle the size of a thumb, poured some of its contents into the paste, and handed it to Anita.
"Put it on."
After Anita did as instructed, she discovered that her wounds had miraculously healed.
