Ch. 841Cherish
Summary
Key Plot Points
Ash has succeeded in returning to the past timeline after longing for 30 years. He uses Demon Eligos's invisibility to navigate to his old rented house, but soon discovers his younger self exists in this era. To avoid repeating the tragic chain of events, he knocks out his past self, ties and gags him in the car trunk, and uses the demon's power to disguise his appearance as his younger version. He then returns to the house, exchanges a brief interaction with his sister Cheryl, and goes to see his girlfriend Linda, who wakes from a nightmare about a forest of evil spirits.
Character Developments
Ash is overwhelmed with joy, gratitude, and relief, yet deeply vulnerable; he moves cautiously, cherishing every ordinary object as precious. He demonstrates resourcefulness and resolve by taking control of the situation (subduing his past self). Linda is loving and fearful, clinging to Ash after her nightmare, revealing her subconscious dread of losing him. Cheryl’s sleepy, casual greeting shows a normal, trusting family dynamic.
