Two weeks had passed since Li Wei sent Dumbledore a letter.
After that, aside from Hermione and Ron gaining a pair of eyeglass frames on their noses, nothing else seemed to have changed.
When damp, chilling air spread across the lawns and seeped into the castle, October arrived.
Although Headmaster Dumbledore had previously, under the pretext of "preventing colds," tactfully advised students not to go anywhere alone recently, especially near damp washrooms.
Colds still suddenly became widespread among the staff and students, leaving Madam Pomfrey, the head nurse, rushed off her feet.
Fortunately, after Li Wei announced that "even if you miss the monthly exam due to a cold, you will have to take a make-up exam next Sunday," more than half of the older students who had caught colds suddenly recovered.
As for the rest, Li Wei did not care.
Although he had some ideas about the progress of the Chamber of Secrets incident, he was not in any hurry.
A month into the job, he had gradually adapted to teaching and gained a thorough understanding of every student's personality and talent.
Everything was gradually becoming easier to handle.
At that point, he decided to formally introduce the "Magical Stage Play" teaching method to the fourth-years.
"Magical Stage Play? Professor, do you want us to perform a play? What about our lessons?"
In the classroom, Cedric was the first to raise an "objection."
Li Wei looked at his most satisfactory student of the past month and nodded, knowing that Cedric was actually trying to help him out.
"Out of all seven years, you are my favorite year."
After teaching for a month and "fighting" a group of unlucky children over homework for a month, Li Wei had more or less learned how to lie with his eyes open.
Looking at the students grinning foolishly, he continued.
"I have decided to put more effort into teaching you, combining education with entertainment so you can learn magic through enjoyment. This is a benefit exclusive to you fourth-years."
"Learning magic through enjoyment?"
"That's right. Starting today, our learning tasks will progress one week at a time."
Li Wei waved his wand, and twelve character scripts flew into the hands of the twelve students.
Although Cedric was somewhat concerned—this change might affect their studies—he still curiously opened his script for a look.
[Wizard Continent: I Am a Legend]
This was a world of magic. In this world, everyone could learn magic. Based on different levels of magical power, there were ten realms:
Witcher, Wizard, Great Wizard, Witch Spirit, Witch King, Witch Emperor, Witch Sect, Witch Venerable, Witch Saint, Witch Emperor.
The magical world was filled with powerful figures.
As a young person about to step into it, could you make it to the end and become the ultimate legend?
[Your Character—Masai Jostone]
You were a member of the half-blood Jostone Family.
In order to compete for Garon Mine, your family frequently clashed with the Pasley Family of the neighboring county.
When you were three years old, your father was killed by a powerful wizard of the Pasley Family using Dark Arts. Your mother was heartbroken day and night and soon passed away as well.
The tragedy of your childhood filled your heart with hatred, while the loss of both parents left you without support within the family.
Worse still, you were a Squib who could not even cast spells, and you were often bullied by other family members.
Cedric frowned slightly. His powerful empathy quickly drew him into the role of this pitiful character.
Come to think of it, Hogwarts' caretaker, Mr. Filch, was also a Squib. He often suffered because of it, which was why he was so harsh toward the school's students.
Cedric turned to the next page.
[Act One: Abandoned Library]
As a Squib, you were once again mocked by family members your age and driven out of the training grounds today.
"People who can't cast spells don't deserve to train with us!"
"Why not? We're all from the same family. I'm not getting in your way here, so why won't you let me train?"
"Why? Because my spells are stronger than yours! What, you Squib, don't like it?"
For your "insolence," you were severely taught a lesson, then punished afterward by being sent to clean the already abandoned library.
While cleaning, you discovered a wand that had been sealed away for a long time, waiting for your summons!
Li Wei's script was extremely detailed. Cedric had not encountered much of this sort of reading material before and quickly became engrossed.
Unfortunately, just as he finished Act One and wanted to keep reading, Li Wei's voice rang out.
"Everyone, stop after you finish Act One."
"..."
Though he desperately wanted to know how the plot continued, Cedric obediently stopped.
However, when he turned his head, he saw that, as expected, a few students had ignored the warning and were trying to turn to the next page of their scripts.
But they soon discovered that every page after Act One was stuck together and could not be opened at all.
It seemed that before receiving Li Wei's permission, they truly could not see the plot of Act Two.
"All right, everyone has received their role. Next, you are to act according to the logic of your characters in the script. Do you understand? Just like performing a play."
"It sounds interesting, but—Professor, can this really help us learn magic?"
A Ravenclaw student adjusted the glasses on her nose and asked calmly.
"Of course—you already possess solid theoretical foundations. Even your bodies have memorized every key point of spellcasting. Next comes the time to test and apply them."
As he answered her question, Li Wei waved his wand.
Before the astonished eyes of all the young wizards, every desk and chair rose into the air on its own, swiftly floating into the sky and vanishing. The classroom in their eyes began to stretch infinitely outward—expanding. Dozens of magical training dummies rose from the ground, while the floor beneath their feet was swept over by rainbow light and transformed into yellow earth.
"All right, we'll discuss the specific results after trying it once.
If your performance does not satisfy me, I will decisively terminate this course and consider letting students from other years try it instead."
The display Li Wei had just revealed was so astonishing that it decisively intimidated every student.
When they heard that their performance would determine whether the course continued, the faintly amused smiles on their faces instantly vanished.
This was a privilege exclusive to their fourth year! They had only just gotten it and had not even bragged to the other students yet. How could it disappear just like that?
Besides, if they could learn while having fun, who would want to sit through those dull theory classes every day—well, although the practical lessons after theory were not bad.
For a moment, everyone's enthusiasm was stirred.
Cedric stood on the training ground somewhat nervously—performing in a play for the first time, he could not help feeling tense.
Moreover, the professor had temporarily taken away his wand.
Opposite Cedric stood a pure-blood student with a somewhat strange expression. According to the script, his name was Rien Jostone, the irritating fellow who had driven Cedric out of the training grounds.
"Cedric—"
The moment he spoke, Cedric gently shook his head at him, while the students nearby, each trying to get into character, whispered reminders.
"No, it's Masai Jostone."
"Oh—right, Masai! You worthless Squib, you don't even have the talent to cast spells, yet you still have the nerve to come hang around the training grounds every day?"
The pure-blood student quickly got into character—actually, he felt that the role suited his own way of thinking rather well.
A Squib, after all. Wasn't learning magic just a waste of time?
