After learning from governments around the world that a world-destroying crisis was approaching, the various Ministries of Magic urgently relayed the news to their respective national leaders. They then began verifying the information through stargazing, divination, and other methods.

Yet the divinations produced wildly different results—one could even say they were completely polarized. One set of predictions concluded that the entire Earth would be destroyed, while the other claimed that the world would remain completely safe.

Although the two results differed enormously, every divination confirmed the intelligence previously provided by the non-magical governments: a massive meteorite—or rather, a comet—was indeed heading toward Earth.

Now that the accuracy of the news had been confirmed, the wizards began making preparations. Those with inherited family legacies returned home to search through documents and records left behind by their ancestors. Those who found nothing went in search of anyone they believed could contribute even the slightest bit of strength.

And because this was a crisis that directly affected the entire world, their search was no longer limited to humans. Any intelligent lifeform fell within the scope of the wizards' search. Whether goblins or Veela, as long as they could think and possessed a heritage, they were included.

However, when faced with a crisis on a planetary scale, these beings who lived only on Earth's surface had no particularly good solutions. They came up with only a few plans that were practically impossible to implement. Even the Noah's Ark project initially proposed by the non-magical governments had been ruled out.
