Background / History

Electrolux entered Xu Qing's world through spatial cracks created by the fluctuations of the “great region.” Reduced to a wisp of remnant consciousness, he was close to dissipating until the Life Carving Knife—made entirely of Life Gold—gave him a means to stabilize himself. He requested permission to reside within it, and Xu Qing not only accepted but outright gave him the knife. Xu Qing thereafter addressed him as Elder Yi. 8

Initially dependent on the knife's life energy and Xu Qing's overflowing mental power, Elder Yi gradually recovered enough strength to manifest techniques, create portals, and operate independently for extended periods. 14 31

He became Xu Qing's principal supernatural adviser, helping examine the Self Martial Soul, investigate seals and unusual energy states, conceal auras, and research Soul Tools. Although frequently exasperated by Xu Qing's thought process and requests, Elder Yi remains consistently helpful. 19 32 61 68

Personality

Elder Yi is polite, composed, and formal in his first meeting with Xu Qing, bowing to request temporary residence in the Life Carving Knife. He is touched by Xu Qing's generosity, comparing the youth's nature to his own past as the Child of Light. 8

As their relationship develops, he becomes more candid and wry. He is regularly bewildered by Xu Qing's unconventional terminology, impulsive plans, and tendency to delegate enormous tasks, but adapts remarkably quickly to them. 14 19 32 68

Despite his relaxed manner, Elder Yi reacts coldly to genuinely evil creations such as the Ten Thousand Soul Banner and acts immediately to erase them and purify their victims. 36
