Lin Fan's injuries healed rapidly under the dual effects of nanomedical technology and his own Foundation Establishment True Essence.
Several days later, he was able to walk, though his complexion remained pale and his internal True Essence was far from returning to its peak state.
Yet, a strong sense of urgency, like a Sword of Damocles, hung perpetually over his heart.
Mercenary Tao's attack was merely the beginning.
He knew deep down that in one year's time, a true catastrophe would descend—those two Saiyans from outer space who viewed destruction as a pastime!
Given Earth's current combat power, unless Goku and King Piccolo broke through their limits, they would be utterly defenseless!
Because of his arrival, this world had already experienced a subtle butterfly effect, and he had no certainty whether the future would still follow its original trajectory.
He had to sound the alarm!
He had to make everyone prepare in advance!
But he could not explain the source of his information.
Should he just say he was a transmigrator? He would likely be dismissed as a lunatic.
After much deliberation, he found Bulma, who was tearing her hair out over new blueprints in the gravity laboratory, and Krillin, who happened to be visiting West City (and mooching a meal). Through Bulma's communicator, he contacted Master Roshi, who was far away on Kame House Island.
The atmosphere in the laboratory was somewhat stifling.
Bulma looked at Lin Fan's excessively serious expression and set down her tools.
Krillin also dropped his playful demeanor, watching him with curiosity.
On the communication screen, Master Roshi took off his adult magazine and adjusted his sunglasses.
"Everyone," Lin Fan began, his voice slightly hoarse from his recent injuries, yet carrying an unquestionable weight, "what I am about to say may sound absurd, but please, listen until the end."
He took a deep breath, his gaze sweeping over the three of them, and said slowly, "Recently, I have had the same dream repeatedly... an incredibly vivid, suffocating nightmare."
"A dream?"
Bulma blinked. "Are you sure your injuries haven't fully healed and you're hallucinating?"
"No, it's not a hallucination."
Lin Fan shook his head, his eyes grave. "In the dream... about a year from now, two... uninvited guests will descend upon Earth from the heavens."
"From the heavens? Aliens?"
Krillin scratched his head. "Like King Piccolo?"
"Terrifyingly more so than them."
Lin Fan's voice dropped, as if recalling a horrific scene. "They call themselves... Saiyans. They live to fight and conquer, and they take pleasure in destroying planetary civilizations. Their goal... is to slaughter all resistance and then sell Earth... to other buyers in the universe."
"Slaughter everyone? Sell the Earth?!"
Bulma shrieked, "That dream is way too ridiculous!"
Krillin's face turned pale. "Is... is it real? Lin Fan, dreams are usually the opposite of reality, right..."
Only Master Roshi, behind the screen, had eyes that flickered slightly behind his sunglasses, and he did not immediately refute the claim.
Lin Fan ignored their skepticism and continued to describe the events with a tone suppressed by fear: "I 'saw' their power... it was despairingly strong! The energy signature of any one of them far exceeded any opponent we have ever faced! Even... far beyond the full power of Tien Shinhan and Goku!"
"They are cruel, cold, and treat life like blades of grass. I 'saw' cities turned into seas of fire, and countless people... including our friends... falling in despair..."
Lin Fan appropriately displayed a hint of pain and lingering fear, his acting realistic. "Nappa... Vegeta... these two names are etched into my mind like a nightmare!"
He looked at Krillin, then at Master Roshi on the screen. "We must prepare in advance! One year... is too short! If we do nothing, when the time comes... we will have no chance of winning! Earth... will be completely destroyed!"
The laboratory fell into a dead silence.
Bulma's mouth hung open; she wanted to say something, but she was intimidated by Lin Fan's unprecedented seriousness and the genuine fear in his eyes, leaving her momentarily speechless.
She was a scientist and did not believe in prophetic dreams, but Lin Fan's description was too specific, too real, especially that sense of destructive oppression...
Krillin was so scared he swallowed hard, subconsciously touching his bald head as if he could already see himself being beaten to a pulp by aliens.
"Saiyans... selling planets..."
Master Roshi spoke slowly, his voice no longer that of his usual lecherous self, but carrying a rare gravity. "There are indeed many powerful races and forces in the universe... destroying planetary civilizations is not impossible..."
He adjusted his sunglasses and scrutinized Lin Fan. "Kid, your dream... the details are too clear. Moreover, the energy aura on your body seems to have undergone some peculiar change after your injury... it has become more... restrained and profound. This dream may not be groundless."
Master Roshi had lived for hundreds of years; he had witnessed the Evil Containment Wave, knew the origin of King Piccolo, and even vaguely understood that there were heavens beyond heavens.
His acceptance of these supernatural phenomena was far higher than that of Bulma or Krillin.
"Master Roshi! You don't actually believe him, do you?"
Bulma looked at the screen in disbelief.
"Better to believe it and be prepared than to be caught off guard."
Master Roshi said in a deep voice, "If Lin Fan's dream is true, we are facing a crisis of Earth's survival. If it is false... preparing in advance and strengthening our training can do no harm."
He looked at Lin Fan. "What do you need us to do?"
Lin Fan felt a bit more settled, knowing that at least Master Roshi was mostly convinced. He immediately said, "First, we must notify Goku and Tien Shinhan as soon as possible! They are our strongest combatants; they must know of the crisis and train even harder!"
"I can't reach Goku; the Lookout seems to be blocking signals."
Bulma frowned, "Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu's whereabouts are also uncertain."
"Do your best to contact them."
Lin Fan said, "Secondly, all of us must spare no cost to improve our strength within this year! Bulma, you must accelerate the progress of the Gravity Room! Krillin, your training cannot slacken either!"
"Finally..."
Lin Fan's gaze swept over the high-tech equipment in the laboratory, "We need to gather as much information as possible about the universe and extraterrestrial civilizations, and develop targeted weapons and defensive measures... even if they only play a small part."
Bulma looked at Lin Fan, then at the rarely serious Master Roshi on the screen, and finally gritted her teeth: "Fine! Although it still sounds ridiculous... I'll trust you this once! The Gravity Room project priority is raised to the maximum! I will have my father use all resources to search for any data regarding aliens and 'Saiyans'!"
Krillin also nodded vigorously, his small face filled with tension and determination: "I... I will go back and train twice as hard! We absolutely cannot let Earth be sold off!"
Master Roshi pondered for a moment and said, "I will try to contact Kami using some ancient methods... perhaps he knows more. I will also have the turtle keep an eye out for any unusual activity overseas."
The goal of the warning had finally been initially achieved.
Although Bulma and Krillin were still half-doubting, the seeds had been sown, and the sense of crisis had been conveyed.
Lin Fan looked at the sky over West City outside the window, but the sense of urgency in his heart did not diminish.
One year... there was only one year left.
He had to improve his cultivation faster, refine better pills, and nurture stronger magical artifacts...
At the same time, he had to remain constantly vigilant against... the Red Ribbon Army and Dr. Gero, who were hiding in the shadows and eyeing him like a tiger.
The road ahead was destined to be filled with thorns.
