These Sea Kings resembled enormous snakes. Their bodies were covered in prismatic scales that could refract light into rainbow hues even in midair, and they also had long, forked tongues.
But beyond that, they looked nothing like snakes.
First were the teeth in their mouths, densely packed in more than one row. Their sharp serrated teeth could easily tear apart and seize massive prey.
Then there were the countless segments along their bodies. Those hook-like limbs made them look more like centipedes than sea serpents.
Rather than snakes, Dawn felt they resembled the species from before snakes had evolved.

The beasts' roars rose and fell, and terrifying feral pressure poured from every Sea King, gathering in the air. The oppression carried by these apex hunters of the sea made the soldiers aboard the ships tremble.

The remaining Sea Kings' roars carried a hint of weakness, but far more of them were driven into a savage frenzy, their enormous bodies crushing straight toward the ships.
But what answered them was a huge slash flying at extreme speed, tearing through the air with a shriek. It moved so fast that it could only be seen after it struck.
The enormous sea serpent charging at the front, intent on destroying the ships, was cut cleanly in two down the middle by Dawn.
