Ron bumped Harry's shoulder. "Hey, for the sake of old Merlin's beard, cheer up, Harry."

"No swearing, Ron," Mrs. Weasley admonished him in a tone that brooked no argument, then turned and smiled at Harry. "Dear, you really do have to put those things out of your mind. It's time to look ahead."

"Ron, what's more fashionable now is—Ravenclaw's long hair," George said, pulling a face.

"I don't care what it is, no swearing." Mrs. Weasley used magic to clear the empty plates to the worktop, then refilled the cups of the wizards who had finished eating. Ron did not dare argue. Annoyed, he picked up his fork and buried his head in the portion of chicken Bill had given him.

Tonks, who had been silent in her seat the whole time, choked on the tea she had just put in her mouth when she heard Ravenclaw's name. After coughing several times, she lowered her head and spooned up some baked beans in tomato sauce to hide her expression, but quite a few of the thick, tomato-coated beans fell before they reached her mouth. Tonks seemed not to notice. She casually speared a croissant and stuffed it into her mouth.

Also maintaining a startling silence at the table was Sirius Black. He was leaning back in his chair now, idly turning his wineglass as he stared blankly at Harry.

Remus Lupin noticed his wife's state. He patted her shoulder to bring her back to herself, then picked out some cooked mushrooms covered in cheese sauce and placed them on her plate. Tonks nodded gratefully and seemed to open her mouth as if to say something, but in the end she only forked up the mushrooms and swallowed them.

After dinner, Molly and Arthur went straight out shopping. With Mister Handy
