Ross nodded. He waved his wand at the slow-moving Mud Fiend, and a small, sickly green sphere made of strong acid shot from his wand tip and splashed across the golem. The acid that landed on the floor began to smoke, while the golem itself did not seem to react much at all. Aside from the weeds and leather caught on its body quickly corroding and turning black, nothing changed. Then Ross turned his wand, and an invisible force—a magical shockwave—took effect on the Clay Golem. The mud all over it began to crumble, and in almost an instant it looked as if it might collapse at any moment.
"A Clay Golem weighs about seven hundred pounds. Their method of attack is relatively simple: they charge straight at the enemy closest to them. So it isn't very suitable for dealing with wizards, and is better suited to facing certain beasts. What's special about it is that it has excellent resistance to acid damage caused by things like acid splash or strong acid arrows. Its weakness is that, although like other golems it has resistance to most charms and effects, it has little defense against Transfiguration or spells like earthquake curses that can create tremors in earth." As Ross spoke, he pointed his wand at the mud outside the floor. The mud quickly gathered onto the golem and automatically began repairing it. "Its greatest advantage is that the material basically costs almost nothing, and as long as there is mud under its feet or nearby, it can complete its own repairs as long as it hasn't been completely destroyed."
"I received Professor Geller's report before this. I believe that compared with using this kind of Clay Golem for combat, it is more suited to certain specialized work. Some herbs and magical
