In the silent temple.
The wide-area Legilimency sensed a living creature approaching, drawing Allen's attention as he held Luna in his arms. The rustling sound of a snake slithering rang out.
Allen looked toward the sound. After a short while, he saw a giant snake about twelve feet long appear at the entrance to the shrine. It probed inside with its enormous tongue, then looked at the monster and wizard corpses and severed limbs strewn across the floor, flicked its tongue, and drew it back into its Jacobson's organ to analyze the scent. Then its sense of smell and heat-sensing tongue made it raise its head, fixing its two not-very-good snake eyes on the high platform—and then the whole snake recoiled, flipped around, and fled back the way it had come.
Allen withdrew his gaze indifferently. Seeing that Luna still seemed to be asleep and had not been disturbed, he had no intention of paying Nagini much attention either. He touched Luna's hand and found it a little cold, so he spread the cloak behind him and wrapped both Luna and himself tightly inside it.
A few minutes later, hissing sounded. Nagini's somewhat cold, hoarse voice drifted in from outside the door. "Hiss... wizard... Voldemort... where?"
"He's gone to meet the Grim Reaper..." Allen was somewhat surprised that the other party would try to communicate, so he hissed back in Parseltongue as well, his tone rather impatient. "I don't have time to deal with you right now. Run for your life."
From inside the doorway came the sound of Nagini's scales scraping against the floor as she wriggled her body. It was clear she was moving very quickly. Allen withdrew his gaze, but then heard Nagini's hissing voice come from some distance outside the entrance. "Wizard, here... wait... please..."
