Once Draco, delighted at feeling singled out for special treatment, had slipped through the Gate opened for him and gone to the House of Harris, Allen turned to Penelope and said, "Penelope, shall we take your Auror duties seriously over the next few days? Or do you want to slack off and let your subordinates handle it?"
"Of course I'll go!" Penelope unconsciously licked the corner of her mouth and made a chopping motion. "But Lucius's files... Allen, none of those pureblood families are clean anyway. Why not just arrest the whole family outright? And maybe you didn't hear, but some Italian wizard refugees have lost their minds and are holding some bizarre protests."
Allen looked genuinely surprised. "Italians? What are they protesting? That the ketchup here tastes bad, or that not enough people make pasta?"
"Those wizard refugees' brains have been washed by the beliefs of the local Muggles. They can't stand seeing the undead walking all over the streets and think it's blasphemy against Muggle gods... In other words, they want us to stop creating and purifying Undead Creature laborers." Penelope looked somewhat irritated and conflicted. "You know, there are quite a few wizards from other places too, each with their own beliefs. We've detected that some refugees have expressed the hope that we can build temples for their own gods on the Floating City, besides worshiping Crazy Girl."
"I can't control who they believe in at home or whether they refuse to believe in Luna. But if my Floating City has no room for a second temple, you can let their leaders know that I won't indulge refugees in every way like some Muggle countries do..." Allen grew less gentle than usual when he heard issues of faith being mentioned.
