With a tremendous bang, Reno's closed door was hit by Penelope with the Open Sesame spell from before Alohomora had been invented, and the door panel was instantly split into lumber and sent flying aside.
"Pansy?"
A cry of surprise came from inside. Penelope's tightly pressed lips curved slightly upward, and she strode out, saying to the Doctor behind her, "You guard here. Come in later."
Then Penelope stepped inside, her left hand rising and flicking outward in the air in time with the music in her ears. Inside, Elisiv had just heard the commotion in the corridor and come out to check, only to run into the sight of Penelope barging in. Recognizing who she was, she was so frightened that she immediately screamed.
Seeing that the girl carried no wand, one corner of Penelope's mouth pulled down. She raised her hand and fired a spell at her, teasingly letting it skim right past the little girl's hair.
The little girl, nearly hit, was like a startled fawn. She hurriedly ran back into the room and cried out in panic, "Dad!"
Penelope tightened her grip on her wand and advanced with murderous intent, but after passing one doorway, she flung a finger toward the ceiling as if she were in a house of music, then backed up a few steps, raised her wand, and pushed the door open with one foot.
Reno's wife was sitting in a white ceramic bathtub full of foam, bathing. Only her shoulders were exposed, and on her head she wore the same wizard Walkman as Penelope. Her eyes were closed as she swayed along with the rhythm, clearly listening to music while soaking in the bath, and she had not noticed Penelope suddenly breaking in at all.
