After completing the handling and care of the magical plants almost perfectly, and amid Professor Granger's admiring comments that came dangerously close to breaking the rules by revealing she had scored full marks, Hermione became the first candidate to walk out of Greenhouse Two. Cheers immediately came from outside—after class, the younger students had run over to cheer on their seniors, while also getting an early look at the exam process.
Hermione greeted a few students with practiced composure, then craned her neck a little and started walking down the path.
After only a few steps, she noticed Emily among the group of younger wizards outside Greenhouse Three. She and Gabrielle, who had Veela blood, stood out sharply in the crowd, though at the moment they were mostly just chatting with each other.
That told Hermione Allen had most likely finished his exam early as well. Hearing the young wizards on this side cheering Hermione on, Emily said a few words to Gabrielle beside her, then walked over toward Hermione—Gabrielle's waist-length, pure-colored hair swung behind her, and her silver-glinting blue-green eyes gave Hermione a suspicious glance before she stayed where she was, somewhat unwillingly.
"Hermione, how did it go? The questions didn't look too hard?" Emily took Hermione's hand and said, "It's fine. Allen came out fastest. He's already gone back to the office."
"Mm, it wasn't too terrible, I suppose? Though Mr. Granger basically said outright that I got full marks, I'm not sure whether I watered the Squeak Tree too much. It was twisting rather happily... And there were some Herbology effects involving Umbrella research, and I didn't know whether I should write them down. I think I wrote too much... And question thirty-three..." Hermione thought back, only to let out a long sigh. "You know I haven't
