After that, the Magical Kingdom sent out non-warship-model transport Floating Ships in the city and began specifically taking in those American Wizards who wanted to leave their homeland and become refugees.
Once some of the designated passages into the defensive zone were opened, those Americans practically charged in like their lives depended on it. They did not care at all about the belongings they had brought with them; they only wanted to rush inside with their families. They were afraid the United Kingdom was only putting on a temporary show, making a display of not abandoning them, and would not keep sending Floating Ships to take in these Americans.
So all of them wanted to board first, right when the policy began, and use that chance to reach the Floating City to ensure their own safety and that of their families.
As a result, on the Floating Ships, not only were there no empty seats, but to set their minds at ease, the Kingdom's wizards not only filled even the aisles with American Wizards who had squeezed aboard, they also tore down some unnecessary compartment walls.
These refugees were packed shoulder to shoulder, almost without even enough room to turn sideways. On small vessels like the Nautilus, facilities such as the toilets inside the ship were nowhere near enough for the currently overloaded refugees to use, and all sorts of stenches filled the cabin with complaints.
But when word of this reached the former German Magical World region, it sparked unrest among the wizards who had remained in the area. Feeling that they were being treated differently, and now standing at a matter of life and death, everyone feared they might die because of it.
Letters of protest flew like snowflakes into the Domed Glass Hall on the Floating City.
