As Allen recited the incantation, strange magical ripples echoed through the air.

The soul was slowly drawn out and gathered into a red Soul Gem the size of a goose egg—much the same as when it had first emerged. Flitwick's face flickered faintly through the inside of the gem from time to time.

Then, without stopping, Allen simply reached out with the hand holding the gem, groped in midair, and thrust his hand into a patch of void that appeared out of nowhere.

The Grim Reaper watched Allen's movements from the side with a frown.
