The wizards cast spells to clear out the Undead Creatures that had climbed onto the wall or come from behind it. Beneath the wall, the Undead Creatures piled high before the divine statue were set alight, crimson flames tangling with thick black smoke as firelight and dark fumes surged into the sky. The wizards and Centaurs who had come from the Floating City also cast aside their old customs and dignity; carrying wizards on their backs, the Centaurs galloped all over the Great Wall, clearing one Fireplace after another like firefighters before shifting battlefields again, hurrying off to deal with the Fireplaces the House-elves had built everywhere.
On the other side, however, when it came to the Undead Creatures pouring endlessly out of the Gates, the wizards acted somewhat unusually: they only surrounded them and did not immediately launch an attack. Even the Floating Ships in the air temporarily stopped dropping Alchemy Bombs onto the Shield Charms cast by the Undead above those Gates.
The high-level Undead did not know what was going on, but that did not stop them from seizing the opportunity, ordering their subordinates to regroup and build up their defenses in hopes of increasing the slaughter in the battle to come—in truth, the moment the Floating City appeared, Voldemort and the others surrounded at the Gates knew this attack had failed.
