The deeper they went, the more profoundly dark the Giant Wood Forest became. Suddenly, Allen stopped, frozen as though he had been struck by Charms. He saw a pair of eyes, glowing an eerie green in the darkness as they watched them.
An instinctive fear of wild beasts surged through him. Allen gripped his wand tightly and stared without blinking at those two glowing eyeballs.
"What is that?" Gaia had spotted the eyes too. Her voice sounded shrill and harsh, with a hint of panic.

Allen whipped around and saw a strange little creature resembling an ape. With its head hanging oddly low, it ran through the woods behind him. In its panic, it crashed into a giant tree, staggered several steps to the side, and vanished into the shadows of another patch of forest in the blink of an eye.
Gailis, who was ahead of them, heard the commotion and immediately turned back to ask what had happened. Allen described his experience in detail. Gailis ordered the warriors to stay alert and gather together to guard against danger.
