In Hogsmeade, some lazy shopkeepers still had not taken down the Christmas decorations. Holly wreaths hung on the doors of many thatched cottages and shops, and strings of enchanted candles adorned the trees.
Patrolling Aurors were at their busiest on Hogwarts students' Hogsmeade days. They were all young wizards and witches who had yet to graduate, so arguments, quarrels, and even firing minor jinxes at one another with their wands were normal. Though public order was good now, Auror Headquarters had repeatedly stressed that every possible danger had to be eliminated, so most of the time they had to double as adults persuading children to stop fighting.
Beside the main road through the village, inside the Literati Feather Pen Shop, Ginny held a Peacock Feather quill that could automatically correct misspellings and smiled at Hermione. "How about this one? I think Harry would like it."
"I doubt he and Ron would like any quill... especially after that Umbridge punished them last year..." Hermione picked up a black quill shaped like a raven. "I suppose every Ravenclaw would like this one?"
"Harry really likes the new Potions professor. He's been going to see him every day lately." Though Ginny knew this was Dumbledore's order, she still felt a little sour. Then she frowned. "It's finally the weekend, and Harry said that with a Mandrake leaf in his mouth, he couldn't properly drink Butterbeer or eat anything good after coming to Hogsmeade... What about Allen? Why didn't he come with you today?"
"I can see the Mandrake leaf isn't affecting you much anymore." Seeing how quickly Ginny had mastered the trick of speaking clearly with a leaf in her mouth, Hermione praised her. "Today in Diagon Alley, Ravenclaw Temple is holding its completion ceremony. Allen has to attend."
