Following the Will of the People

Allen looked up. His family was watching him with concern. Allen had always been the pride of the family, and they had almost never objected to his ideas or any of his requests. This time, however, the deeply rooted views of the wizarding world kept them from supporting his decision as unquestioningly as before, and voices of opposition had appeared—though everyone was only speaking from their own perspective, and their goal was to help Allen grow and develop better.

But as Allen stood, judging from his expression, he did not seem to show any change in mood, nor did he seem inclined to compromise. Under everyone's gaze, he walked to the Wizarding Television, took out a triangular magical disc, and inserted it. As the disc slid in, the many technological achievements of the rapidly developing Muggle world appeared before his family.

Even after the film finished playing, the Tower remained silent for a long time. The power of Muggle technology exceeded what the pure-blood wizards present had imagined, and the Harrises discovered that ordinary Muggles with firearms and nuclear weapons could also cause the kind of destruction only top wizards in the magical world possessed.

"Damn it, those Muggle governments have weapons like these? Why did no one take this seriously before?" Owen asked Lenn, who also looked somewhat bewildered, with a frown.

Allen pointed lightly through the air and turned off the television. "Because Muggle-born wizards who know how dangerous they are can't occupy high positions in the Ministry of Magic, while the upper levels of the Muggle world are monitored and controlled by us... Right now, we can control them easily, so wizards simply don't care about them. And places rich in magic, like Hogwarts, cause electronic products to break down automatically as soon as they get close.
