Nancy heard their argument and wanted to say something, but the atmosphere still kept her from voicing words she knew would not be taken seriously. Allen smiled at her in comfort.

Rufus Scrimgeour had never liked the Harris Family. Even though this so-called new savior before him had schemed to drive off that foremost of Dark Wizards, You-Know-Who, Scrimgeour still could not bring himself to like him—when, with the Harris Family's current strength, they could clearly have taken more direct and more effective measures against You-Know-Who, yet they had not done so.

What happened afterward, along with the recent press conference, also revealed the Harris Family's vicious ambitions. They were not content merely to control the Ministry of Magic; they had gone too far. Because of that, Scrimgeour had no choice but to accept the invitations of those pure-blood families and borrow their power, joining forces with them to resist the Harris Family's hegemonic attempt to control the Magical World.

Now that he heard Allen wanted to interfere in the Auror Office's affairs, Scrimgeour felt disgusted from the bottom of his heart. He believed this was also one of the Harris Family's attempts to take control of the Auror Office.

"You're being too absolute, Mr. Scrimgeour. This isn't a matter for the Auror Office alone." Allen was completely unaffected by the other man's suddenly forceful bearing. He leaned forward slightly. "I can obtain permission from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. It will be a little troublesome, but I can still do all of this legally and properly."

"To have you, Professor Harris, conduct the Legilimency and take charge of this matter..." Scrimgeour sat ramrod straight. "If you learn You-Know-Who's exact location from her memories, then you must immediately lead a team
