"Your possessiveness makes no sense..." Allen said, pulling another tape measure from his bag, this one marked with silver graduations. The magical tape measure flew into the air and came before the little Basilisk, as nimble as a little snake itself, closing around it to measure the circumference of its head, then stretching out to measure the distance between its eyes.

The tape slid back into Allen's palm and curled into a roll. After soothing the little Basilisk with a few words, Allen put the tape measure back into his pouch.

Now that he had the detailed measurements, Allen took out a pair of the defensive glasses he had given to many classmates in second year, removed the crystal lenses, and began polishing them until they were very thin and light.

Next, Allen took out a small piece of Mithril and turned it into a jagged frame.
