Outside the seemingly peaceful little basin, however, the scenery was entirely different.
Dressed in black clothes and a black robe, the man seemed shrouded entirely in darkness! The ground was covered in distinctive black rock, and against it, his black-clad figure seemed to vanish!
Yet amid that darkness was a trace of scarlet. A closer look would give anyone a start, for black tomoe kept spinning within that scarlet!
This man was Kangetsu. With his Sharingan activated, he carefully surveyed his surroundings from his hiding place among the black rocks!
His gaze finally settled on the seemingly peaceful little basin!
The Ishikura Clan lived in this little basin, but today, their usual tranquility was gone. They had encountered a group of people who refused to follow the rules!
During the Warring States Period, the opposing side had to be notified before a battle. In this case, for instance, following the rules would mean sending someone to deliver a declaration of war to the Ishikura Clan before the actual fighting began! But Kangetsu ignored those rules and came straight here to launch an attack. This was unquestionably a violation of the Warring States Period's rules! Yet its effectiveness was beyond anything conventional tactics could achieve.
Kangetsu did this to wipe out the entire Ishikura Clan. Aside from bringing the Ino-Shika-Cho Clans under his command, he had come here for only one thing: killing! Only by killing could Kangetsu grow stronger. Only by killing could he put his current plans into action. Only by killing could he survive in this Warring States Period!
Kangetsu gripped the Black Blade tightly, killing intent filling his eyes. Then he turned to Inoue beside him and said, "Tell me, how is it going? How is the plan progressing?"
"Lord Kangetsu, the plan has gone very well. Our men have already infiltrated the Ishikura Clan and planted large numbers of Explosive Tags. Following Isshin's plan, we also planted plenty of Explosive Tags along the routes their three jonin must take! Once the other Explosive Tags go off and the Ishikura Clan's three jonin appear, those tags will detonate immediately. The only question is how many of those three jonin will die!"
After speaking, Inoue revealed a slight smile, but it vanished without a trace under Kangetsu's icy gaze!
With killing intent in his eyes, Kangetsu looked toward the basin. He had already clearly identified the positions of every Explosive Tag. It's time. It's summer now, and just after noon is when people get sleepy. It's also when they let their guard down!
With that thought, Kangetsu said quietly to Yamanaka Ino, "Tell everyone to take a Military Ration Pill first so the afternoon drowsiness won't affect them. After taking it, once they hear two explosions, they must immediately throw their Shuriken, then use the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique to fire them into the basin below us. Remember, the barrage must be dense!"
