Salamander Shinda, known as Hanzo's right-hand man,
was stunned by the surviving Rain Ninja's report.
Three squads had gone after one Uchiha squad. They had scored no kills and been wiped out themselves, with only one man making it back.
Salamander Shinda paced back and forth, unsure what to do.
That ninja squad was vicious and ferocious. Even if he went himself, he probably wouldn't fare well.
Ever since the Second Shinobi World War, Salamander Hanzo had stopped caring about the affairs of the Land of Rain. He indulged in luxury and pleasure, leaving his dealings with Danzo to his deputy, Shinda.
Last time, Salamander Shinda had personally led five squads to hunt down two Uchiha squads. They had succeeded, but he himself had been badly wounded, and his force had suffered heavy losses. That had given him a clear understanding of the Uchiha Clan's combat strength.
And this squad was clearly even more formidable. Three squads had failed to score a single kill, and only one man had escaped after they were slaughtered.
After thinking it over, Salamander Shinda still wasn't willing to put himself in danger. He turned and headed for the stairs,
making his way to Salamander Hanzo's quarters.
"Lord Hanzo! A squad of Uchiha elites killed three of our squads. Only one Genin made it back to report!"
"Shinda, can't you handle it yourself? It's such a small matter. Do you really need to report it to me? Hm?"
Hanzo sounded displeased. That final, dismissive hum made Salamander Shinda's knees buckle, and he fell to the floor.
