"How could this be?!"
Kenis immediately rushed to the center of the venue, sweeping her gaze across the citizens in the stands with wide eyes.
"Have you all gone mad?!"
Even if public opinion truly favored [Journey of the Spark], the Elder Council's own people couldn't possibly vote for the other side. How could it be unanimous?
"Just as expected." Anaxa slowly rose from the stands and said disdainfully,
"I foresaw this outcome long ago, Kenis. You went too far."
"What do you mean?" Kenis stared blankly at Anaxa. "Don't forget the vision we planned together, Anaxagoras!"
"What exactly do you know? Why didn't you report it to the Elder Council?!"
"Because it would be meaningless." Anaxa's expression was cold.
"Even if you realize something now, once this gathering ends, you'll forget it all over again."
"This Citizen Assembly has been a joke from beginning to end. Before the coming crisis..."
With that, Anaxa slowly descended the steps and arrived at the center of the venue.
At the same time, the eyes of all the citizens regained their clarity, and they did not even remember what had just happened.
"What happened?"
"The votes have already been cast...?"
Ignoring those cannon fodder, Anaxa looked toward the equally bewildered Phainon and said in a deep voice,
"You did well, Phainon."
"In that situation, using fierce rhetoric to stir up emotions was a clever move."
"But unfortunately, it was a trick Kenis had already worn out. Compared to her, someone who has held a high position for years, this is already the limit of what you could do. There's no need to blame yourself."
"Teacher..." Phainon came back to his senses.
"Could this be why Madam Aglaya dared to let me take the stage?"
"Who knows what that madwoman is thinking." Anaxa frowned.
