"Three, two, one! Fire!"
The helicopter's loudspeaker delivered the end of the cold countdown.
Yan Huan's eyes widened.
"Hey! Wait! You're actually doing this?!"
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
Several energy beams shot from the weapon mounts on the helicopter's flanks, striking straight at Yan Huan's position!
Attacks in the dream might not cause physical death, but their force and simulated pain were no joke.
"Shit!"
Yan Huan cursed under his breath. His hands and feet pushed hard against the glass, sending him skittering sideways like a gecko!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The energy beams slammed into the spot he had just occupied, blasting spiderweb cracks through the dream glass.
A hot gust carrying fine glass shards and dispersing Memoria washed over Yan Huan, leaving him feeling a little warm.
Robin's elegant singing from the screen vanished beneath the shriek of explosions and alarms.
"Fine, fine! Just you wait. I'm sending every last one of you to scrub toilets!"
Yan Huan steadied himself amid the smoke:
"You opened fire over a lousy screen? I'm pulling out Old Audie's beard today!"
"Target moving! Attack missed! Repeat, target moving!" the helicopter's spotter reported tensely.
"Keep him pinned down! Don't let him near the screen's core!" the pilot roared. He adjusted the helicopter's angle, and the cannon charged again with a low hum.
On the ground, Miss Hound received her orders too. She watched the figure deftly dodging through the smoke high above. There was something familiar about him.
But duty came first. She pushed the thought aside and focused on coordinating with the other units.
Miss Hound snatched up her radio:
"Sniper team, take positions! Block his escape routes! Don't damage the screen's main structure!"
"Engineering team, stand by. Once the target is restrained or brought down, move in immediately to repair the dream structure
