She explained it from another angle:
"If Destruction's blossoming is a magnificent instant, then betrayal often happens in a single decisive moment as well."
"And before that moment arrives, whether toward Grand Duke of Blazing Flames, Gofemwood, or Firefly... my loyalty was sincere."
"What about Robin?" Black Swan raised another challenge, her eyes fixed on Dahlia.
"That spark that burned away her memories wasn't merely to complete a mission, was it? Don't you think that went too far?"
"Likewise, that could be considered a commission." Dahlia remained calm as she explained.
"From a Masked Fool."
"So please, stop assuming you understand me—" Dahlia's voice softened, taking on an almost confessional tone.
"I simply don't want to miss any possibility life has to offer, any vividly colored experience."
"My nature isn't betrayal, but... greed."
"I greedily want to taste wine of every flavor, even knowing some will scorch my throat."
Black Swan remained unmoved by this seemingly heartfelt confession.
"Dear, have you suffered some irreversible fatal wound, or contracted an incurable disease no one knows about? If you weren't on the verge of death, I wouldn't believe you could be so candid."
"Eh, I get it." Yan Huan suddenly raised a hand, interrupting Black Swan's questioning.
"Isn't this just wanting to unlock every achievement?"
"You want to join every Path and every faction to experience them all, right?"
"You're the first person who understands me." Dahlia smiled at Yan Huan, a trace of relief flickering through her eyes.
"So you should be able to understand my position."
"Actually, sometimes I hate Remembrance itself."
"Because some people and some things don't deserve to... admire my blooming form again in their memories."
"Besides, when it comes to greed..."
Dahlia suddenly and deftly turned the spearhead toward Black Swan.
"She is no less greedy."
