| Two-Tomoe Sharingan | 85 | Awakened at age six after practicing the Meditation Technique; carries dual pistols and is considered capable of accompanying Obito outside the village. |
Background / History
Itachi first appears as a young Uchiha associated with Uchiha Izumi, who has a crush on him. Obito considers him exceptionally talented but worries that his future worldview could become distorted, deciding to personally educate him in family loyalty and clan values 38.
After witnessing Itachi's advanced wire-guided shuriken techniques, Obito recruits him as his second disciple. Itachi initially refuses out of respect for Shisui, whom he regards as a teacher and friend, but accepts after learning that Obito taught Shisui. A spiritual-power test produces a blinding light, confirming Itachi's exceptional innate talent 46.
Under Obito's tutelage, Itachi studies the Song of Filial Piety and is repeatedly made to copy and recite it. The lessons influence his treatment of Mikoto and reinforce his belief that family should take precedence over abstract ideals 58 59.
He later leaves the Ninja Academy to join Uchiha Mahiro in potion research, using the Sharingan's microscopic observation to identify substitute ingredients for alchemical formulas 69. During trips outside Konoha, he becomes increasingly concerned with poverty, inequality, and the causes of war 70 71.
Appearance
At six years old, Itachi is already an active Uchiha combatant with a Two-Tomoe Sharingan and a distinctive pair of pistols 85.
- Two-Tomoe Sharingan, frequently kept active when investigating threats or fighting 120 140
- Black-and-white dual pistols carried at his waist 85 120
- Uses wired shuriken techniques in training 46
Personality
Itachi is respectful, diligent, and initially reluctant to go against the people he admires. His hesitation to accept Obito as a teacher comes from loyalty to Shisui, while his concern for Mikoto reflects the filial values Obito instills in him 46 59.
He is observant and calm under pressure. During the Chunin Exams, he identifies signs that the Forest of Death has been disturbed by a powerful predator, investigates murder victims rather than ignoring them, and correctly concludes that the killer was pursuing something other than examination scrolls 138 140.
Itachi is deeply affected by the disparity between nobles and impoverished civilians. He expresses a desire to improve the lives of people who cannot afford food, though he does not yet know how to accomplish that goal 71.
Abilities & Skills
Two-Tomoe Sharingan
Itachi's Sharingan supports his combat awareness, close-range targeting, and investigative work.
- Uses it to scrutinize scenes and follow blood trails in the Forest of Death 140
- Employs it while evading and pressuring the samurai Takahashi in a prolonged duel 120
- Its microscopic observation capability aids potion research 69
- His strongest documented gunshot exhausts his chakra, leaving him unable to stand without support 120
Firearms and Projectile Control
Itachi is highly skilled with both shuriken and Obito-made pistols.
- Redirects wired shuriken in flight to strike the rear of targets 46
- Fires bullets along curved trajectories to attack opponents from multiple angles 87
- Uses bullets that produce explosive flame and frost effects against groups of samurai and rogue ninja 120
- Defeats the jonin-level samurai Takahashi by waiting for his stamina to decline, then pouring his remaining chakra into a decisive shot 120
Ninjutsu
- Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique — attacks Igarashi's chimera beast alongside Samui, though the beast's scales largely withstand the fireballs 140
- Chakra-enhanced movement — travels through the Forest of Death by adhering chakra to tree branches 138
Tactical Judgment
Itachi frequently identifies danger before it fully reveals itself and adapts to changing situations.
- Infers the presence of a predator from the unnatural silence in the Forest of Death 138
- Notices that murder victims' examination scrolls were left behind while their bells and Vajra Talismans were taken 140
- Follows Obito's instruction to feign capture in order to expose Hiruko, enduring injury as part of the deception 141 142

- Searches for ingredients with properties matching an existing formula 69
- Enjoys alchemy despite discomfort with the effects of one potion being researched 69
Equipment / Weapons / Items
