"The semi-finals are now underway."
As the referee's voice faded, Jackie Chun walked up to Ziye, patted him gently on the shoulder, and said, "Young man, give it your all! I won't be holding back!"
Hearing this, Ziye couldn't help but shake his head with a smile. A strange glint flashed across his face as he replied calmly, "You're the one who should be giving it your all! It would be quite embarrassing to lose to your own student, wouldn't it? Don't you agree, Master Roshi?"
Jackie Chun was startled by these words, his expression turning panicked as he retorted, "What are you babbling about? I'm no Master Roshi!"
"Master, there's no need to pretend. I saw through your disguise long ago! I also understand why you've come here," Ziye said with a smile.
With that, Ziye stood tall and bowed deeply toward Master Roshi.
"Why is contestant Ziye bowing to contestant Jackie Chun? Is he planning to forfeit?"
Seeing this, everyone looked on in astonishment, and the referee began to provide commentary, completely bewildered by the situation.
"What are you doing?" Master Roshi asked with a solemn look.
"Master, thank you! I will use the strength you taught me to defeat you and prove that your judgment was correct," Ziye explained calmly.
"You brat, don't be so confident. Your master isn't that easy to beat!" Master Roshi nodded, smiling.
"Master, I understand your purpose! Rest assured, we won't stagnate just because of a few victories, for the path of martial arts is endless!" Ziye said with a grave expression.
Hearing this, Master Roshi was taken aback. He hadn't expected his student to say such a thing, and a look of gratification appeared on his face.
"The path of martial arts is endless! Well said. If Master Mutaito could see you now, he would surely be very pleased," Master Roshi said, his expression filled with nostalgia.
"Come then, let me see what progress you've made in your training!" Master Roshi said, his face turning serious.
"Very well!"
Ziye nodded, then stomped his foot against the ground and charged forward.
Seeing Ziye's movement, Master Roshi shook his head in disappointment. "Your body is full of openings. That's not what I taught you."
Master Roshi threw a punch, but his expression changed instantly as the figure charging toward him turned into a blur.
"Nani?"
"Master, you've fallen for it."
Bang!
The next second, Ziye's voice rang out from behind. He delivered a kick, and Master Roshi went flying.
"Hiss... that hurts! You brat, you really don't hold back!"
Master Roshi rubbed his lower back, which had nearly been kicked out of place, and slowly stood up. He looked at Ziye with a gaze full of pride before saying calmly:
"The Afterimage Technique? I should have guessed. Since Goku learned it, there's no reason you wouldn't have."
Ziye chuckled and explained, "Haha, Master, you kept us in the dark for so long! I can't believe you were hiding so many ultimate techniques!"
"Martial arts require innovation; you shouldn't just blindly copy the moves of others," Master Roshi said noncommittally.
"Master! Let me show you this move next!"
With that, Ziye shifted into a horse stance, pulled his hands to his waist, and white energy began to condense instantly.
"You brat! Using my own ultimate technique against me? I refuse to believe you can surpass your master!"
Master Roshi mirrored Ziye's movements exactly.
"Ka~me~ha~me~ha!"
"Ka~me~ha~me~ha!"
The two beams of white energy collided, whipping up a violent gale and erupting in a blinding flash of light!
Bang!
A moment later, both of them were sent flying backward, though Ziye appeared to be in better shape.
"How is this possible? Unbelievable, to be defeated by my own technique?" Master Roshi said, looking stunned.
"That old man knows the Kamehameha too?" Goku muttered, rubbing his chin in confusion as he watched the scene.
"In that case, let me show you this!"
Master Roshi left an afterimage standing in his place.
"It's just the Afterimage Technique. Nothing special!" Ziye said, shaking his head dismissively.
"Over here!"
Ziye's expression turned serious as he spun around to strike at the figure appearing behind him.
"You've fallen for it."
Suddenly, Master Roshi's figure appeared again, descending from mid-air to attack Ziye.
"Nani?"
Master Roshi's expression shifted instantly as he saw Ziye's figure also turn into a blur.
"The one who fell for it is you, Master Mutten!"
Bang!
As Ziye threw a punch, Master Roshi let out a cry of pain and went flying backward once again!
"That stings!"
"How is this possible? You actually..."
Master Roshi stood up in a disheveled state, staring at Ziye with a look of utter astonishment, momentarily speechless.
"Master, how could I not have anticipated the Double Afterimage Fist? Not only that, I have also mastered the Triple Afterimage Fist, so that technique has no effect on me whatsoever!" Ziye chuckled, explaining calmly.
"So... so impressive!" Krillin said in surprise.
"Ziye is truly powerful. I really want to have a proper spar with him!" Goku nodded in agreement.
"What a kid, to have talent that defies the heavens to this extent!" Master Roshi said with a grave expression, before launching another attack at Ziye!
"In that case, try this technique of mine!"
"I wouldn't have it any other way! Master, you'd better teach me every single one of your moves today!" Ziye said, his face full of anticipation.
With that, Master Roshi's body tilted slightly, and his footwork became completely irregular, yet it appeared flawless, making him look just like a drunkard!
"Is this... Drunken Fist?" Ziye said, his expression turning serious.
Seeing Master Roshi's technique, Goku said in surprise, "Huh? That's the move my late grandfather used most often. I didn't expect this old man to know it too!"
Ziye chuckled and immediately launched an attack, but to his surprise, his strike missed completely, and Master Roshi followed up by landing a punch on him, forcing him to stumble back several steps.
"Since that's the case, I won't hold back either!"
Ziye let out a strange laugh, and his footwork began to dance lightly.
"Woooo, watch this!"
With a roar, he attacked again. This time, Ziye intercepted Master Roshi's strike directly and threw a punch of his own!
"What kind of fist technique is this?"
Master Roshi asked in shock.
"This is a style I created myself: Jeet Kune Do!"
Ziye rubbed his nose and replied without a hint of modesty.
"Jeet Kune Do? Interesting!"
