"Don't worry!"
After Lena nodded in agreement, the two demons repeated their warnings several times before finally relaxing and leaving.
Lena abruptly turned around, scooped Ziye up from the ground, and glanced around warily. Then she hurried away from the scene.
"Cough..."
After a long while, Ziye coughed violently and slowly opened his eyes. He found himself in a clean, orderly room with an antique feel. A faint fragrance drifted toward him.
"Where is this?"
Ziye furrowed his brow and muttered in confusion.
"You're awake!"
Just then, Lena walked over in a tight black outfit that showed off her curvy figure to the fullest. Ziye couldn't help letting his gaze linger on her.
"You men are really something. You're hurt this badly, and you still have the mood to stare at my body!"
At Lena's words, Ziye's face reddened, and he quickly looked away. He was about to explain, but a sharp pain suddenly shot through his chest.
"I'm curious. You were clearly dead, but the moment I carried you back, the life in your body came back. Are you really human?"
Ziye didn't answer Lena's question. He knew he'd survived by sheer luck because of the wish he had made with the Dragon Ball.
"Lena, could you do me a favor?" Ziye suddenly asked.
"If you want me to do something dangerous, don't even ask. Bringing you back already put me at great risk!" Lena shook her head and refused.
"Don't worry. It's just a small favor! There's a green bean in my pocket. Just put it in my mouth. I can't even lift my arms right now!"
At Ziye's explanation, Lena furrowed her brow and asked suspiciously, "It's really that simple?"
Seeing how serious Ziye was, Lena nodded uncertainly. She felt around in the pocket of his pants, then put a Senzu Bean in his mouth.
Crack.
The moment the Senzu Bean entered his mouth, Ziye quickly bit down and swallowed it. The broken bones in his body healed in an instant, and the wounds all over him disappeared.
"Th-this is impossible!"
At the sight, Lena's mouth fell open in an O. She couldn't believe that a tiny bean could be so powerful, bringing someone on the verge of death back to full health.
"So Asura can transform too. He's much stronger than I expected!"
Ziye stood up and stretched his arms and legs, his expression cool.
"He's ruled the Demon Realm for all these years. He must have a few tricks up his sleeve!" Lena replied with a light laugh.
"I can't wait to fight him again!" Ziye said excitedly, clenching his fist.
"You still want to fight him? Are you crazy? I suggest you leave the Demon Realm as soon as possible!" Lena said, furrowing her brow in surprise.
"I came here to find a powerful opponent. How could I just leave?" Ziye replied dismissively.
"But..."
Lena was about to say something, but Ziye cut her off.
"Don't worry. He's badly hurt too."
"I might have to trouble you to show me the way again," Ziye said with a smile, scratching his head.
"W-well... fine."
Lena sighed. With no other choice, she agreed to Ziye's request. Then she led him out of the room, and they headed for Asura's palace once more.
After they left Lena's room, the Demon Realm returned to its original, gloomy state. Scene after scene of eerie horror came into view, and demons patrolled the area from time to time. Still, with Lena covering for him, they made their way through without much trouble.
Before long, Ziye was back at the entrance to Asura's palace. A few rays of soft light shone from within. Knowing his way around, Ziye walked straight inside.
The entire hall was empty, with not even a single demon on patrol. Ziye nodded in satisfaction. This was exactly what he wanted; otherwise, he would have had to go to some trouble.
Ziye then made his way to the center of the square. The blood of the demons he'd killed still stained the ground, giving off a nauseating stench. He searched the hall carefully and finally found the orb he'd been looking for, tucked away in a corner.
"Huh? Why is this orb red?"
Ziye rubbed his chin, his face full of confusion. Every orb he'd seen before had been green, which left him astonished.
As he approached the orb, he saw that the number displayed on it was "×2." Ziye immediately understood what it meant. To be honest, this excited him even more than a direct increase in his battle power would have.
Without a moment's hesitation, Ziye put his hand into the red orb. As he gently closed his fingers around the number, red energy instantly flowed into his body.
In an instant, Ziye felt several warm currents spreading through him. His body felt unbelievably light and comfortable—even more intoxicating than making love. When the warmth subsided, he felt his strength surge wildly. His battle power was now on a completely different level.
"Ghost... there's a ghost!"
A clear voice suddenly rang out. Ziye's brow furrowed as he spun around. A beautiful girl was sitting on the ground, pointing at him in terror.
"I'm not a ghost. I wasn't even dead!" Ziye rolled his eyes and explained.
Still shaken, the girl stood up and slowly approached him. Then she asked in a small voice, "Did Father send you to save me?"
"Your father? Are you a princess?" Ziye asked in surprise.
"Don't worry. Once I defeat Asura, I'll take you out of here! Tell me, where is Asura now?"
The girl pointed toward Asura's bedchamber, then said softly, "He's healing in the Blood Pool right now. He sent me out to clean up here."
"I see!"
Ziye took the girl straight to Lena and asked her to look after her for a while. Then he headed boldly toward Asura's bedchamber!
Since Ziye made no effort to conceal himself, the patrolling demons soon spotted him. The Demon Realm, which had been dead quiet, was thrown into an uproar once more by his appearance. Asura, who had been healing, also sprang awake at the commotion outside!
