When I saw a little white paper figure in the drawer with my name written on it,
my pupils suddenly dilated, my face filled with shock.
A white paper figure. My name.
In our line of work, white paper figures with names written on them were only used when performing rites.
For example, when I used the Apotropaic Art to suppress someone, I would use something similar.
I reached out to pick it up and found that my date and time of birth were written on the back as well.
It reminded me of the white paper figures I had seen in my master's room not long after I had joined his school.
But the writing on those paper figures had been blotted out with black ink.
Back then, I had even wondered whether my master intended to kill me.
But I quickly dismissed that thought. If my master wanted me dead, how easy would that be? Why would he need to go through so many twists and turns?
Now it seemed that my master had been anticipating what would happen today since then...
He had done it so that, in the end, I could help my senior brothers and sister pass this final trial.
With that thought in mind, I quickly opened the other three drawers.
Sure enough, each of the other three drawers contained a white paper figure.
Each had a name and a date and time of birth written on it.
The names on those paper figures were Fu Xuefeng, Zhuang Sheng, and Diwu Wanxi.
Three people, three birth dates.
Judging from their birth dates, the three of them were between fifteen and twenty years older than me.
There was no mistake. Whether my senior brothers and sister could pass this final trial depended entirely on whether
