The moment the enormous fish tail cast a shadow beneath the moonlight.
Master, standing at the bow, got excited:
"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit, it's huge, huge..."
I saw it too. That fish tail was probably as big as a washbasin. Seeing something like that in this river was indeed shocking.
But waves of yin energy were coming from that direction. Clearly, it was no ordinary river fish.
"Could it be a fish demon?"
I voiced my surprise as well.
Uncle Yu shook his head.
"Impossible. There isn't a trace of demon energy, only baleful yin energy. It can't be a fish demon, but it could be a living fish fiend."
"A living fish fiend?"
I looked puzzled.
Master nodded too.
"This is where the four fiends converge, usually nourishing yin spirits.
But under certain circumstances, if a living creature can endure the baleful energy, it can undergo a mutation.
Baleful energy, like demon energy, is a particular kind of energy.
That big fish underwater might be one such creature.
It absorbed the energy of the four fiends and became a living fish fiend.
Damn, if I hook a fish that big tonight,
wouldn't that make my title as Mountain City's Number One Wild Fishing King official?"
At a time like this, Master was still thinking about his grand title of "Wild Fishing King."
Uncle Yu rolled his eyes in exasperation.
But just then, the surging waves came again.
The sound of splashing water continued as the flying fish swarm reappeared.
The unidentified black fish shot through the air with whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, like arrows.
Black Umbrella blocked them. With a cigarette in his mouth, Master stood unharmed at the bow.
Just like before, once those unidentified black fish landed on the deck, they lost their evil baleful energy
