After saying that, Grandpa glanced at me and patted me on the shoulder.
His eyes were filled with expectations for me.
I knew Grandpa was leaving me here. He was about to go.
It was easy enough to understand. I needed to hold out here for three days.
No wonder he had told me to bring compressed biscuits.
But before I could react, or even say a word,
Black Emperor behind me kicked me square in the ass with his dog leg.
I instantly lost my balance, pitched forward, and fell straight down from above Water Gorge.
Although I had already guessed that Grandpa would make me go down,
I hadn't expected him to do it this way.
"Black Emperor..."
I called out, but immediately drew up a breath of true qi to protect myself.
It kept me from being injured in the fall, while I adjusted my body and plunged straight down.
The instant I hit the water, Black Emperor barked twice from above Water Gorge.
At the same time, I vaguely heard Grandpa give a low shout:
"Open!"
All of a sudden, runes seemed to appear on the stone walls on both sides of Water Gorge.
The runes glimmered faintly. They were blurry, almost impossible to make out.
Yet they looked like Witch Runes, somewhat similar to the ones revealed by the Witch Pattern Hand.
Before I could see them clearly,
with a splash, water sprayed everywhere as I fell directly into the churning waters of Water Gorge.
My body sank with the current.
My ears were filled with gurgling water as my body twisted helplessly within Water Gorge's surging flow.
The undercurrent below churned violently, as though it wanted to swallow me into some abyss...
Holding my breath, I struggled to steady myself in the dim current.
