I was a little speechless. All these ghosts' tongues were tangled together; it wasn't a talisman.

I circled around the ghosts and looked them over before finally speaking.

The wandering souls howled in agony.
Ghosts were different from flesh-and-blood living creatures. Even if their limbs or tongues were severed, as long as they had offerings and yin energy to nourish them, they would grow back before long.
Unless they had lacked them while alive. Then they would not grow back after death, unless a fake was made on the corpse.
