Ring Ring Ring, the House Was Alive

After the paper effigy girl finished speaking, she led her paper dog toward the white paper house.

She skipped along, looking quite happy.

The other white paper figures simply stood silently on either side.

It made creaking sounds, utterly eerie.

As though the house were about to come alive.

The two round windows lit up with faint green ghostfire at that moment.

From afar, they looked like two eyeballs.

Not only that, the square door began to squirm and distort.

Like a mouth opening and closing.

The doorway even exhaled a puff of black smoke...

Along with a sound like "uh."

Yet it also sounded like "hungry."

The two wisps of green ghostfire in the windows flickered with a whoosh, growing somewhat larger.

How was this still a paper house?

This was clearly an "evil ghost's head." It was hungry and wanted something to eat?
