At the sight before us, Mao Jing and I both widened our eyes, a flicker of delight showing in them.
The Pink Skeleton Ghost rapidly evaporated and broke apart. She had only taken two steps toward Mao Jing before her entire body turned into a cloud of black smoke and vanished.
The black smoke merged with everything around it, seeming to form a Black Fiend whirlwind above and around us.
The sound of wind howling, "whoosh, whoosh, whoosh," rang out without pause.
The white mist that had churned through the forest began rapidly receding down the slope.
Only a few lingering ghostly remnants and evil ghosts remained nearby.
At that moment, they let out shrill cries and screams, then fled down the slope with the retreating white mist as if they had all gone mad.
Everything around us was "collapsing," and the Pink Skeleton Ghost had transformed into black vapor.
As the black vapor continued to spread, the illusion shrouding the real scene gradually began to "fade," peeled away bit by bit.
At a glance, the entire forest was losing its color, on the verge of returning to normal...
This illusion was incredibly powerful. It did not feel as though it had affected our minds—it seemed to have directly altered the actual terrain?
If that was true, it was far too terrifying.
How much power would it take to accomplish something like this?
And the key to all of this was this round fan.
But now, it seemed we were about to escape.
We stood where we were, simply watching the strange changes around us.
Suddenly, the round fan in Mao Jing's hand trembled violently.
Then, it flew out of his hand.
With a whoosh, it shot into the air, hovering three meters above the ground.
Was there another twist?
