Joining the Ya Er Adventurer Team

Ya Er excitedly invited everyone to sit at the table and introduced her teammates to Li Si.

"This is Lunbos Ironhammer, a Black Iron Dwarf shield guard and the vanguard of our team. Don't let his old appearance fool you—he's only in his thirties and has just reached adulthood!"

The dwarf named Lunbos Ironhammer had already heartily poured a huge mug of ale down his throat. He casually wiped the white foam from his beard and said in dissatisfaction,

"Hey, hey, Ya Er, isn't it a little inappropriate to say that in front of others?"

Ya Er made a face at Lunbos before introducing the others.

"This beautiful big sister is Elena, an Elf Ranger and our team's scout. Sister Elena is amazing! She helped me a lot when I registered as a mercenary."

The blonde elf sitting beside Ya Er nodded at Li Si, her attitude somewhat aloof.

"Lastly, you should have met this one before, Li Si. He's Yasen Hardt, a warrior like me."

Yasen looked at Li Si and said amicably,

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Viscount Kane."

Since the other party was so courteous, Li Si also greeted the most outstanding descendant of Duke Hardt's family with equal politeness.

"The pleasure is mine, Lord Yasen Hardt. Duke Hardt has always been one of the elders I admire most."

Li Si was not making that up. Duke Hardt held the highest status among all the court nobles and was also the one most trusted by His Majesty the King.

"Huh? You're a noble, Li Si? You really don't look like one!"

Ya Er swept her gaze around the table, proudly raised her fair, round little face, and said,

"But starting today, he's my disciple! Aren't I amazing?"

Li Si helplessly tapped the table with his index finger and said,

"I remember only wanting to learn a weapon technique from you. How did I become your disciple?"

Ya Er waved her hand dismissively. "Oh, it's all the same. I teach you, so I'm your teacher, which means you're my disciple. Nothing wrong with that!"

After finally finding someone capable of saving her stomach, how could she possibly let him go so easily?

"Li Si made all these dishes! They taste amazing. I've already decided that whenever we go out to complete missions in the future, Li Si will be in charge of cooking!"

Li Si listened as Ya Er arranged his future so thoroughly and felt rather helpless.

Of course, he would not refuse. A golden thigh had practically delivered itself to his doorstep—if he did not cling to it, he would be letting down the memories of his previous life.

Still, it felt strange somehow, as though he had suddenly been wrapped up and sold off.

Did this mean he had officially leveled up into a leg accessory?

"Is he joining our adventurer team? Since when?"

The beautiful elf, who had remained silent until now, suddenly spoke and stared at Ya Er.

"Haha... ahaha."

Clearly, Ya Er had thought of this on the spur of the moment and had not discussed it with the other team members.

Lunbos, however, kept pouring mug after mug of ale down his throat and did not care at all whether Li Si would join the team.

As for Yasen, he seemed to want to say something, but after considering that he had never successfully stopped any of Ya Er's ideas before, he gave up resentfully.

"Oh, Sister Elena, Li Si's cooking is really delicious. Just try some!"

The elf looked at the all-meat feast on the table. Aside from the simple Vegetable and Fruit Salad, everything else was meat, leaving the vegetarian Elena rather speechless.

What exactly did Ya Er expect her to try?

Ya Er seemed to realize the problem as well. She gave an embarrassed, silly laugh, then clung to Elena's arm and pleaded,

"But Li Si's cooking really is delicious. Ya Er doesn't want to eat that hard dry rations anymore. Let Li Si join us, okay?"

Elena looked helplessly at Ya Er's pitiful act and said helplessly,

"He's only a Novice Mage, isn't he? It could be dangerous for him to adventure with us."

"I'll protect him!" Ya Er patted her small chest and declared confidently.

Elena had a headache. She did not want to suddenly allow someone she barely knew to join the team, but Ya Er's pitiful appearance truly softened her heart.

Ya Er never complained of hardship or exhaustion during their adventures. Although Ya Er was stronger than her, Elena had always treated her like a younger sister.

"Fine, fine, stop shaking me. I agree, all right?"

"That's great!"

Then, without asking for Yasen's opinion at all (his status decreased by another 1), she raised her cup of juice and shouted,

"Then welcome Li Si to our adventurer team!"

Li Si very sensibly put on a happy expression. After raising his cup and draining a mug of ale with Lunbos, he invited everyone to begin enjoying the meal.

Ya Er and Lunbos had long been unable to wait and immediately began eating.

"Mmm, so good!" Ya Er took a huge bite of the Special Cold Meat covered in sauce, her eyes widening in delighted surprise.

Lunbos was also full of praise for Li Si's cooking. Yasen's expression was somewhat strange, but he did not eat any slower than the others.

Even Elena was moved by the fruit pudding Li Si had specially rushed to make for her, and the way she looked at him softened somewhat.

"By the way, Ya Er, is our team an adventurer team by nature?"

"That's right, I haven't introduced it to you yet!"

After snatching the last Golden Silk Shrimp Ball from Lunbos and contentedly eating it, Ya Er began explaining.

After all, independent mercenaries could not cover every aspect as thoroughly as a team could. On the road to completing a commission, accidents could happen anytime, anywhere.

Mercenary groups were also categorized differently depending on the types of commissions they accepted.

For example, there were mercenary corps that accepted wartime employment and guard groups that mainly accepted escort commissions.

Ya Er's adventurer team was a rather special type among them.

Generally speaking, people became mercenaries in order to earn money and enjoy a better life.

But there was another kind of person. They were passionate about exploring the world's secrets, discovering wondrous places unknown to others, and enjoying the thrill of traveling through ruins and dangerous lands, refusing to hesitate even in the face of danger.

Naturally, obtaining more precious treasures was also a reward for their courage.

Such adventurer teams generally accepted regional exploration missions issued by nations and the Mercenary Association, as well as long-distance caravan escort missions.

When they had no missions, they would also take the initiative to adventure through ruins and other places that had yet to be fully explored. It could be said that they spent most of their time traveling.

Still, they probably would not take missions too far from the royal capital, right?

Given Ya Er's identity, the kingdom surely would not feel at ease letting her travel too far from the royal capital!
