At the edge of the Elf Forest,
Towering trees rose into the sky, forming a dense green canopy. Their trunks were thick and their crowns lush, like guardians of nature standing silently upon this ancient land.
Sunlight filtered through layers of leaves, scattering mottled patches of light and shadow and lending the forest an air of mystery. A breeze stirred the leaves, making them rustle softly, accompanied by the faint, crisp songs of birds in the distance. It was like nature's own symphony, intoxicating to the senses.
Deeper within the great forest, it felt as though they had stepped into a dream forgotten by time. The ground beneath their feet was no longer hard soil or gravel, but a thick, soft green carpet. It was a natural carpet woven from moss and lichen accumulated over countless years, densely spread across the ground, soft and springy.
The Elf Forest lay in the south of the Fanor Continent. Unlike the Fies Kingdom, it did not experience distinct changes through the four seasons, so the forest remained evergreen year-round, serving as a shared refuge for all living things within it.
However, this forest was not as damp and gloomy as the tropical rainforests Li Si remembered from his previous life. The spaces between the trees were fairly fresh and open, making travel easy enough.
Li Si jumped down from the trunk of a fallen dead tree and reached out to steady Cecile.
Cecile was now dressed in lightweight brown leather armor, with a small leather bag slung diagonally across her back. Add a longbow, and she would have looked exactly like an Elf Ranger.
However, Cecile's pale face revealed her less-than-impressive stamina.
"Want to rest for a while?"
