At the heart of the forest,
Arsen and the others set up their tents on the grass. They had even unusually lit a campfire to prepare dinner, looking as relaxed as though they had come here for a picnic.
Yet a careful look would reveal that none of them had taken off their equipment to relax. Their weapons were also laid beside them, ready for them to enter combat at any moment to deal with danger.
Li Si had already set up several layers of warning magic around the camp, prepared for danger to strike at any time.
The entire group looked relaxed, but they were actually tense beneath the surface, all of them trying to lure any potential enemies into making a move.
Even while resting at night, they made sure at least two people were keeping watch.
But Li Si and the others soon learned that all their precautions had been completely meaningless.
This was already the second day, yet there was still no movement at all. It was as though this forest truly was a paradise untouched by the outside world, with no danger whatsoever.
"What exactly is going on?"
Arsen was somewhat helpless as well. He raised his head and looked at the sun, which was about to reach its zenith.
Their group had been in the forest for nearly an entire day. They had spent one night at the heart of the forest, yet nothing had happened.
They had clearly prepared themselves mentally to face danger, but no dangerous event had occurred. It left Arsen with the powerless feeling of striking the air with all his strength.
Unlike Arsen and Elena, Li Si and Ya Er were feeling increasingly restless.
Li Si felt unbearably stifled. The pressure he had felt upon entering the forest had
