The morning sun had just risen.
A double-decker bus silently pulled into the back courtyard of the Countermeasure Department.
Half an hour later, Kanzaki Rin, now dressed casually and carrying her luggage, walked out of the Countermeasure Department's front gate.
Compared to three months ago, the special training hadn't changed Kanzaki Rin's temperament much. If anything, she'd become more reserved.
If not for her still-youthful features, no one would have guessed she was only a seventeen-year-old girl.
After adding money to her suspended phone account, Kanzaki Rin first called her best friend, Takeda Masumi, to tell her she was back.
A car suddenly stopped in front of her. The handsome Aoki Yusuke was in the driver's seat, clearly having made an effort to dress up. He'd slicked back his hair and sprayed on cologne.
He gave her a hearty smile. "Kanzaki, welcome back."
Kanzaki Rin gave him a cool look. "Aoki, you're not old enough to be driving yet. Do you even have a license?"
Aoki Yusuke's smile stiffened. "I'm using my father's license. You know I'm a good driver. It'll be fine. Want me to take you home?"
"Thanks, but I need to go somewhere else first. You don't have to trouble yourself."
Kanzaki Rin thanked him, then turned and walked away, pulling her suitcase behind her.
Aoki Yusuke watched her beautiful figure recede, the smile on his face gradually fading.
The nearby LED advertising screen played an ad: "Today's lucky color is green. Green represents health and hope. May green always be with you."
Kanzaki Rin found her car in a nearby parking lot, where it had been sitting for three months. She put her luggage in the trunk and drove off.
Yes, she didn't have a license either, but she didn't need to drive anyone else around.
