In the pitch-black corridor, the sound of hurried footsteps suddenly rang out.

The cockroach-like female ghost rounded the corner at a speed that would put a drifting car to shame, all four limbs flailing as she sprinted away.

On closer inspection, her pale face was full of panic. She kept glancing back, as if some terrifying monster were chasing her.

She hadn't gotten far before the thudding of footsteps sounded behind her, growing faster and faster.

The female ghost looked back and saw Fang Cheng catching up, holding a cleaver in each hand.

"Little miss, don't go! You're so cute. Come let big brother see how you're developing."

His tone was like that of a lecher harassing a young girl. The female ghost shuddered and ran even faster.

But Fang Cheng wasn't slow either. He was practically sprinting at world-record speed.

His body was still ordinary, but Fang Cheng had completely adapted to it.

He had no special abilities, but he still had his combat instincts and skills. With just those, he could hack his way from Shinjuku to Shibuya with two watermelon knives, going three days and nights without blinking.

A mere female ghost couldn't attack Fang Cheng with fear or Resentment. Of course she couldn't beat him in a straight-up fight.

They chased each other a long way, until they reached an empty corridor. Fang Cheng suddenly hurled one of the cleavers in his hand.

The cleaver flashed through the air like a fan blade, spinning toward the female ghost.

With a smack, the cleaver chopped off one of her arms, throwing her stride into disarray.

Fang Cheng had already caught up.

"Ah!"

The female ghost let out a piercing shriek, then sprang into the air, limbs spread wide like a spider as she pounced on Fang Cheng.
